Disney dropped a one-two punch on fans with the announcement that Moana 2 was confirmed, and they even provided a shocking release date. Long the subject of fan speculation, Moana 2 languished in uncertainty for years as the highly-anticipated Moana live-action remake seemed to take center stage. Now, Disney not only confirmed the sequel but revealed it will premiere on November 27th, 2024.

Announced amid a slew of other future sequels that will dot the cinematic landscape for the next few years, Moana 2 is coming later in 2024 to the surprise of many. While the cast is still under wraps, a bit of a story tease was provided when it was revealed that the sequel will see Moana re-team with demi-god Maui as they sail across Oceania in search of long-lost waters. Disney also teased the new movie with a short clip that can be viewed below.
