If Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire follows the trend set by the last two MonsterVerse movies, thereโs a good chance itโll make use of at least one monster from Tohoโs library. Or, it could take a page from King of the Monstersโ playbook and incorporate a handful of fan-favorite kaiju. Either way, monsters capable of helping Godzilla may actually be necessary for the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel. With โThe New Empireโ title creating the implication that Godzilla and Kong will have to overcome an alliance of Titan villains, Godzilla could certainly use a hand from some familiar faces. Here are eight Toho monsters who could team up with Godzilla and Kong against the next MonsterVerse threat.
Manda, the giant sea serpent from Destroy All Monsters, was first seen in Tohoโs Atragon movie where he was introduced as the guardian of the underwater kingdom of Mu. His role in Atragon ties in neatly with the MonsterVerse, particularly since the Hollow Earth once had its own human inhabitants. Since Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is expanded to expand on the history of the Titans in the Hollow Earth, it would be fitting for Manda to appear in a role similar to the one he held in Atragon. Itโs not hard to imagine Manda as a heroic Titan who protected a long-forgotten Hollow Earth civilization.
