Talbert to life! Featuring behind-the-scenes clips from the film, we’ll unpack how the film’s incredible VFX were brought to life - plus live Q&A from Black Girls Code members!

DAVID E. TALBERT (Writer / Director / Producer)
An imaginative auteur breaking boundaries with his sensational and acclaimed works in theater, film and literature, David E. Talbert is a brilliant force in the entertainment industry. He has written and produced 14 national tours and broke box office records. Talbert has garnered 24 NAACP nominations in which he won Best Playwright of the Year for The Fabric of a Man, and has won the NAACP Trailblazer Award for his contributions and accomplishments in theatre. He has also received the New York Literary Award for Best Playwright of the Year for his musical, Love in the Nick of Tyme.

In 2008, Talbert made his feature film directorial debut with the Sony Pictures comedy First Sunday, which he also wrote and produced, starring Ice Cube, Tracy Morgan and Katt Williams. He then went on to direct Fox Searchlight’s Baggage Claim. In 2016, Talbert wrote and directed the holiday film, Almost Christmas for Universal Pictures with an all-star cast including Danny Glover, Gabrielle Union and Academy Award winner Mo’Nique. All three of his feature films have debuted as the #1 Comedy in America.

Grateful to be doing the work that he loves and understanding the challenges many face in the entertainment industry; Talbert recently launched Lights Camera Access (LCA), a speaker series designed to give students who are underrepresented in the entertainment industry access, insight, and mentorship opportunities.

LYN SISSON-TALBERT (Producer)
Lyn Sisson-Talbert stands tall as one of the most accomplished female producers in Hollywood and the guiding force behind original projects for film, stage, and books.

Sisson-Talbert produced Netflix's live-action musical Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, a twenty-year passion project she has been developing alongside her husband David, who wrote and directed the film. As a companion to the film, Sisson-Talbert & her husband, authored the upcoming illustrated children’s book, Square Root of Possible, which will be released through Penguin-Random House in December. The book is centered around one of Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey’s anthemic musical numbers of the same name.

Previously, Sisson-Talbert Executive Produced the Fox Searchlight comedy Baggage Claim, which became the number one comedy in America. Sisson-Talbert went on to Executive Produce Universal Pictures' Almost Christmas, guiding the film — like Baggage Claim before it — to the number one domestic comedy spot. In 2017, Sisson-Talbert served as an Executive Producer on Netflix’s original film, El Camino Christmas, written by Academy Award nominee Ted Melfi and directed by David E. Talbert. BRAD PARKER (Visual Effects Supervisor)
Brad Parker brings a striking visual style to his work, stemming from many years of experience as a high-level VFX Supervisor. He joined joined Digital Domain & contributed to numerous successes including Fight Club, xXx, The Time Machine, and We Own the Night. Brad also contributed to more recent films like Godzilla King of Monsters, Ad Astra. Parker is set to VFX Supervise the upcoming Brad Pitt film, Bullet Train.

Brad’s advertising VFX work has earned numerous Gold Clios, AICP Awards and Cannes Lions. A number of spots where he contributed as VFX Supervisor became some of the most highly recognized award winners of all time, including “Unstoppable” for Adidas, “23 vs. 39” for Gatorade, “Toy Boat” for eBay and “Kia Hamsters.. Some of Parker’s commercial VFX work is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Brad also contributes regularly to Apple ‘Black Level’ projects including major product launches and advertising campaigns. Brad has been Second Unit Director on major films like Let Me In, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, War For the Planet of the Apes and the upcoming The Batman (2021).
